NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series season so far!

The start of the 2018 season was highly anticipated during the winter months with Matt Bussa and Nick Ottinger looking forward to representing Radicals Online in their first oval world championship outing. The season began with a victory for Nick at Daytona, while Matt also started off strong with a top 10 finish. Over the course of the next few races, challenges were overcome and the duo fought hard to maintain their positions in the standings.

Auto Club Speedway was somewhat of a wakeup call. Both Nick and Matt finished outside the top 30 after struggling with long run speed. Currently, the NASCAR Cup cars need to be set up with dynamic camber in mind. Auto Club was Radicals first attempt at building a camber thrust setup and we were definitely missing something. The boys went to work immediately following the Auto Club race, determined to gain speed. Their hard work paid off the following race, where they showed the ability to run in the top 10.

Richmond Raceway, a track that both Nick and Matt have great success on, was nearly Radicals 2nd win of the season. The #34 and #05 Radicals Online Toyotas spent most of the race in the top 5. Towards the end of the race, Bussa led 49 laps and was side-by-side for the lead with only 7 laps to go. Unfortunately, his older tires allowed race winner Ray Alfalla to sneak by. Nevertheless, a solid top 5 for Bussa gained him numerous positions in the standings. After 6 races this season, Nick and Matt find themselves 8th and 9th in points respectively. With the top 8 making the playoffs in only 6 more races, both drivers look to solidify themselves a playoff spot by jumping into the top 5 in points.
