Sports Car Open Preview

The 3oth September sees the beginning of the new season of the Sports Car Open to take place in a virtual Belgium for 8 hours around the infamous Spa-Francorchamps circuit . At pre-qualifying, the team looked to qualify a car into the Prototype (P) and Grand Touring (GT) classes respectively, both of which progressed through the process without difficulty. With the race only a week away, we took the opportunity to speak to the teams and drivers about their hopes and aims ahead of Round 1.

LMP1 – Radicals JRT

Drivers: Kazuki Oomishima , Carl Jansson, Alex Sadler, Adam Tierney, Joseph Burton-Harris

The LMP1 team running in the prototype class sees iWCGPS driver and fan favourite, Kazuki Oomishima joined alongside by the 2018 Daytona 24 hours Overall winning trio of Alex Sadler, Carl Jansson and Adam Tierney with Joseph Burton-Harris rounding off the strong line up. Ambitions are high within the squad and hope to begin the campaign with a strong result and build from this foundation.

 

GT – RADICALS ONLINE

Drivers: Wyatt Gooden, Sindre Setsaas, Marco Mogren, Thomas O’Leary, Jason Stehney, Jesper Drlicka

Radicals bolster their SCO line up with another strong squad positioned for the GT class. Radical’s veteran Wyatt Gooden is joined by Sindre Setsaas, trucks ace Marco Mogren, Thomas O’Leary and American drivers Jason and Jesper. In another very competitive class, the team will look toward a solid performance and finishing position for the first round and look to build upon it.
